The manga Yu Yu Hakusho was first serialized in 1990 and gained immense popularity, leading to an animated adaptation. The story follows a student resurrected as a "Spirit Detective", tasked with investigating supernatural crimes and events.
Now, iconic characters from Yu Yu Hakusho are being adapted into figures by Kotobukiya's ARTFX J line.
One such character is Hiei, the aloof demon with a third "Jagan" eye, who harbors a soft spot for his sister. His signature features - crimson eyes, spiky hair, torn clothes - are accurately captured in the figure.
Hiei's effect piece depicts his Dark Dragon Wave technique, with clear plastic and carefully sculpted black flames. The figure includes swap-out face parts to showcase his Jagan eye, and alternate right arms to display his dragon tattoo or effect piece. Displaying his base with other Yu Yu Hakusho figures further evokes the series' atmosphere.
With enduring popularity decades after its debut, Yu Yu Hakusho remains a classic. Kotobukiya's figures allow fans to bring home their favorite characters, making a great addition to any anime collection.
